Digital Marketing Analyst II



Job Purpose

Responsible for tracking the performance and ROI of all digital and loyalty customer facing activity.  The role will develop ongoing reporting on loyalty program health, customer earnings distribution and engagement. The position will use a wide range of data sources to determine performance, such as: transactional database; customer database; email reporting platform; web analytics; CRM system and reports from 3rdparty providers.  This role will also support the digital teams with ad hoc customer targeting lists.


This position will work with the loyalty; email; web and social media teams to improve the ROI of all campaign investments on customer facing activity.  This role will also work with SEG’s insights and finance teams to ensure the adoption of agreed to protocols for measuring performance vs control groups.


Additionally this position will track and manage, with the SEG database team, the integrity of the customer database. It will participate in projects or initiatives that rely on the use of SEGs customer database.



1. Data Analysis

Compile and analyze data from transactional database; customer database; email reporting platform; web analytics; CRM system and reports from 3rdparty providersto measure performance of digital and loyalty marketing activity

Develop dashboards and management reports to help the digital marketing team improve ROI performance through use of fact-based information and analysis.

Monitor, report, analyze and forecast key drivers that impact financial results

Participate in the definition of KPIs to measure the effectiveness of digital marketing initiatives.



2. Customer Analysis

Work with SEGs insights and finance teams on agreed protocols and standards  for measurement; use of control groups; and segmentation by key customer attributes

Use SEGs standard and ad-hoc customer segmentations to identify target customers for individual digital marketing campaigns

Continuous tracking of customer engagement across digital platforms to influence the direction of future campaign and platform improvements.



3. Data Integrity and validation

Work with internal and external customer database teams to maintain and support customer data integrity/validation.

Be able to identify gaps in the current data capture strategy and collaboratively implement enhancements.



4. Process management

Work with all digital marketing teams to ensure all channels and customer campaigns are implemented in a manner that enables accurate tracking and performance measurement.

Bachelor's Degree

Marketing, finance, statistics, computer science

3 - 6 yrs minimum

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

Excel (Advance formulas, VBA, macros), SQL, Data mining, performance trend analysis

Strong quantitative skills

Ability to manipulate large data sets

Ability to quickly to grasp new concepts.

Comfortable learning to operate new platforms.

Knowledge of standard financial reporting concepts

Ability to explain complex analysis and implications to non-technical people.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred:

Google Analytics (or equivalent)

Experience with database marketing
